Lion City Dance Convention (LCDC) is an inaugural street dance event organised by YouthCreates and Active Groove which are part of the ActiveSG’s Academies and Clubs’ portfolio. This year, the team aims to support the street dance community by providing learning and competition opportunities with renowned dance studios in Singapore to widen the participation base. With the official announcement by the international olympics committee for the inclusion of Breaking into the games, Active Groove aims to develop programmes and competitions for the street dancers to expand their skills and advance to a higher level.
The 2021 edition of LCDC consists of street dance workshops (which were held in July) and two dance battle events: a) 1v1 Breaking and b) 2v2 Open Styles which will be held at the end of October. Dancers from all walks of life are welcome to participate in two age categories: 25 Years and Under Category and Open Category. 5 distinguished judges from the dance fraternity will be invited to judge the event.
The dates for the auditions and finals are as follows:

Breaking (7.00pm to 10.00pm)
Open Styles (11.00am to 3.00pm)
Breaking (4.00pm to 7.00pm)
According to the current SMM rules, participants in batches will be given an allocated time to come down for the audition and final (top 16 winners) days. The reporting time will be sent to all participants via email on the 24th of October. * Allocated time includes warm up time on the day of auditions and finals performances.

An email with the allocated reporting time and details will be sent after 24th October.
VACCINATED participants will be required to produce proof of vaccination at the point of registration at the auditions and the finals. Please note that there will be no refunds if the participants do not meet the criteria.
UNVACCINATED participants must provide a valid Pre-Event Testing (PET) result from any MOH-approved medical service provider at the point of registration at the auditions and finals. Unvaccinated participants who managed to enter the top 16 finals will have to take another ART test. Please note that there will be no refunds if the participants do not meet the criteria.
An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after he or she has received two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnarty, Moderna or any WHO EUL vaccines.

1. Two players to start. 1st player to think of a pattern and move from 'START' to 'END'

The play mat is a multi-purpose mat which allows you to assess your fitness through simple Active Health assessments (eg. Sit-and-Reach, Y-Balance), and fun activities (e.g. Sport and Ladder) with your family and friends.
These assessments test your balance, flexibility and muscular endurance, which are essential for your daily living, and the activities help improve sensorimotor skills and cognition, and allow for strengthening of bonds through strength-related exercises.
As the play mats are limited items, redemption is limited to 1 per household.
The application period for Active Health play mat has been closed since May. Please look out for our social media for more updates.
No, you are not required to attend a workshop to receive a play mat. However, attending the workshop is recommended so that participants can better understand and utilise the play mat.
No, the workshop is complimentary.
Play Mat bookings for new registrants are currently closed. Successful applicants who have signed up back in May will receive an email to select their date and timeslot for collection, which will be sent out once the mats are ready.

The size of the play mat is 1.8m x 1.8m.

Yes, applicants may collect the play mat on behalf of others, but each person may only collect up to 3 play mats. NRIC of original applicant would have to be presented for collection.
Upon collection, applicant should check that the mat is in good condition. Exchanges will only be entertained at the point of collection.
Successful applicants will be able to collect their play mats from their preferred location anytime within the collection period.
The collection of NRIC is to facilitate the distribution of one play mat per household. This is to ensure that more households are able to benefit from this health and wellness initiative.

Vaccination-Differentiated SMMs for high-risk settings
Definition of Fully Vaccinated Individuals: As fully vaccinated individuals have better protection against infection and severe illness, they may participate in activities in high-risk settings.
For children aged 12 years old and below (i.e. born in and after 2009), they will be allowed to participate in indoors unmasked activities, in ONE group of not more than 5 participants, where all children aged 12 years and below are of the same household. There can be no multiple groups of 5 participants in an organised class/programme in this situation.
