Overview

Coaches are integral to the development of high-performance sports and broad-based community sports participation and to our sports and fitness ecosystem. Therefore, a training allowance is provided to eligible coaches to encourage them to actively engage in continuous learning and be current in their knowledge and skills during this period where their work is impacted by the Covid-19 restrictions. The new Sport Resilience Package measures will support in three forms of assistance:

  1. Continuing Coach Education (CCE) Training Allowance
  2. Training Allowance for Fitness Instructors
  3. Structured Mentoring

The CCE Training Allowance for coaches is a grant provided to eligible coaches to encourage them to actively engage in continuous learning and be current in their knowledge and skills during this period where their work is impacted by the Covid-19 restrictions. Eligible coaches may claim $7.50 for each claimable hour for CoachSG organised CCE workshops to a maximum of $300 per person until 31 March 2022.

Who can apply?

The eligibility criteria for coaches are as follows: 

  1. Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  2. Valid NROC membership (provisional and full) during the time of registration of the Continuing Coaching Education events (e.g. workshops, e-workshops, seminars, webinars) organised by CoachSG
  3. Completed the following (refer table 1) Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) hours based on their membership category and updated on SportSync.sg / submitted to CoachSG.
  4. Full attendance at the CoachSG CCE e-Workshop, submission of feedback and achieved 80% of the quiz/assessment within 30 minutes of the end of the CCE event.

Application Process

Register for CoachSG e-Workshop here.
Attend the e-Workshop and apply for the grant within the Feedback Form at the end of the e-Workshop.
Attempt quiz/assessment within 30 minutes upon the end of the session with 80% score.

If you have attended any approved course/ programme from the approved list besides CoachSG e-Workshops, you have to submit a claim upon completion of the course/ programme to apply for the Continuing Coach Education (CCE) Training Allowance Grant (TAG).

Should the instructor be interested in attending any other CCE training not listed in the above, they may write in to sport_coaching@sport.gov.sg prior to signing up, for confirmation of the training’s eligibility for training allowance claims.

Please note that there is a cap of 5 hours on claims for day-long events such as courses, conferences, workshops and seminars.
