The Skeet shooting event is only open to male athletes for the 2015 SEA Games. Skeet shooting is different from Trap shooting because the targets are shot sideways from two target houses that have different heights, instead of the target being shot away from the athlete.

The athletes, also known as a squad, assemble on the range next to station 1. They must make sure they have all the necessary equipment, accessories and ammunition to complete the rounds. All preliminary procedures like handing out name/number bibs and test firing are completed by the referee at this stage. The squad will be shown targets from both houses.

At the start of the match, the "start" command is announced. In accordance to the official start list, the first athlete will move to station 1. He must load his gun with only one cartridge and is permitted a limited time to raise his gun to sight before calling for the target. The first target will be thrown from the high house within three seconds.

When the result of the shot is confirmed, the athlete will load his gun with two cartridges because a Double (two targets being shot simultaneously from both target houses) will be called. The athlete will leave the station after the Double results are confirmed. The second athlete will move to station 1 and this is repeated till all the athletes have had their turn.

In station 4, two cartridges are loaded for the two single targets. If the athlete forgets to load two cartridges at station 4, his second target will be scored as 'lost'. Additionally, there is a separate procedure for shooting at station 8. Athletes need to load one cartridge in their gun and can call for the target from the high house. Then, they must load their gun again with one cartridge and call for the target from the low house.

Each athlete must shoot the required number of targets in the given sequence at each station and this continues until all athletes have finished shooting at all the stations. Athletes are not allowed to advance to the next station until the command from the referee.

Besides making sure they load the correct number of cartridges, athletes must call for and fire at the targets in the given time frame. The athlete needs to be clear in calling single or double targets.

Athletes have ten seconds to move into their next station and must stand only within the station boundary. They only have thirty seconds to call for and fire at each station. Only one shot can be fired at each target.
