We turn the spotlight on Singapore Softball in this episode of Spotlight on Team Singapore: Sport of the Month, as Softball has seen an unprecedented rise to prominence in recent years, including landing the Gold Medal at the 2019 SEA Games.

The Singapore Men's U18 softball team (ranked 17th in the world) achieved outstanding results at the recent U18 softball world cup, including an historic upset of global powerhouses Argentina (ranked 2nd in the world) 8-3.

It was considered a monumental feat for the softball community here, and in the words of the commentators, a 'historic upset'. The Singapore softball team has never performed so well on the global stage before, and our young Team Singapore softballers received plenty of praise from the commentators at the World Cup, who commended them for their superb performance, despite Singapore being the underdogs and a relatively "young" softballing nation.
