Game Changers: Episode 6 Joan Liew - IFBB Professional Bodybuilder

Joan Liew is a Singaporean bodybuilder and fitness coach. She is well-known in the bodybuilding community for her long-standing participation in the sport, boasting numerous titles like placing 1st at the 2016 Arnold Classic Asia (Hong Kong) Women’s Physique Open.  Joan Liew is the first Singaporean to receive the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Pro Card. Joan has been featured in the Singapore Book of Records as the “Top Woman Bodybuilder in Asia” as well. When she was 8 years old, Joan had stumbled upon a book titled “Keep Fit” during a trip to the library. Intrigued by the cover image of a woman dressed in a 70s-looking leotard and legwarmers, she went ahead and borrowed the book. A year later, Joan wondered into a gym and tried a Lat Pulldown machine for the first time while she was at a friend’s condominium for a birthday party. This first encounter really inspired her to pursue weight training in the future. On top of all she has done, she wrote a book The Skinny Sumo Wrestler. It contains tailored methods, easy tips and useful information catered to the Asian market, for those looking to understand how to achieve long-term weight management without extreme dieting and 'yo-yo' weight loss.
